been knowing this player for a little while, first met him down at the King Biscuit festival in Helena, Ark…..i think he was 16 at the time, and already had the start of a beard going on….yeah man. Michael Burks had been telling me about him for a while. I remember the first night i met him, we were in camp and it was late, could hear some blues playing in the campground……walked on over, he got that guitar and started playing…….blew me away! old soul in a young mans body…….his first album, Man Child was with Michael Burks Band…saldly, Michael is no longer with us, but deep in my heart…play on man, play on……
So glad you have an ear that picks up on what’s so special about Marquise. He is a reincarnation of what drew me body and soul to the blues 60 years ago. Peace on you, Mr Gibbons.
