ZZ Top reveal HILARIOUS set story from their Back to the Future Part III cameo (EXCLUSIVE)

ZZ TOP frontman Billy Gibbons has revealed exclusively to Express.co.uk a hilarious moment from the band’s cameo in Back to the Future Part III.

It’s one of the most iconic film trilogies in movie history and ZZ Top were lucky enough to score themselves a cameo.

Fans will remember the dance scene from 1990’s Back to the Future Part III, at the Hill Valley Festival set in 1885.

ZZ Top had the pleasure of writing Doubleback for the movie, which they played an acoustic version of – but dressed as Wild West musicians.

Now frontman Billy Gibbons has revealed exclusively to Express.co.uk a hilarious set story where – because of their epic beards – the band were mistaken for extras.

Gibbons said: “It was [director] Bob Zemeckis’ off the cuff notion that got us playing our 19th century selves.

“Initially, we were, in fact, mistaken for old west extras by some of the crew after we arrived on set.

“The producers, Bob Z and Bob G[ale], were satisfied they cast us in the part since they saved a bundle on make up.”

My wife and I saw you guys for the third time @ winstar in Nov of 2016 last year, we went to the pawn shop below the casino and was told we missed you Billy for you had been in there an hour earlier and bought an acoustic guitar. But we did meet your super fan from Oklahoma Sandra, the same one who you guys at a recent show all signed her copy of your LP Tres Hombres. I’m sure you know who I’m talking about! Maybe we might get lucky one day if your in that Pawn shop and we could meet, Rock on Brother cause I’m a 40 plus year fan and you guys just keep on getting better all the time, HAVE MERCY!

Great thing about DVD’s is that we can watch our favorite things that our favorite people had the GREAT idea to record.
One thing I’ve always wanted to see on DVD was the early ZZ Top performances that are just SUPER memories.
I have been a ZZ Top fanatic since I first heard ” Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings”. All things ZZ have been awesome.
Record more…Billy. Video and audio. Get that red hot cha-cha out to the masses. Thanx for your interest.
