Move over, Justin Bieber, with your socks and sandals! Take a rest, Harry Styles, with those floral-print Gucci suits! There’s a new—or rather, aged like a fine wine—street style star to watch, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons. The grizzly-bearded 68-year-old lead vocalist stepped out today in a noodle-textured heather-green skullcap, a tailored black blazer, a white button-up, a silver necklace, a pair of sleek trousers, and black suede creeper shoes.

Like his statement-making, biblical-style facial hair, Gibbons’s simple outfit is a signature he rarely strays from. (He was once spotted accessorizing his look with a kombucha drink.) And while the musician may have been in Los Angeles today, he looked as though he could have stepped out of a men’s show at Pitti Uomo. (In fact, Gibbons has a doppelgänger who also attends the shows in Italy. Like Gibbons, the oft-lensed mystery showgoer sports headgear as well as a confident strut.)

But twinning aside, it’s not the first time that fashion has looked to rock stars of an older age bracket for inspiration. Former Brioni creative director Justin O’Shea cast Metallica as the faces of the label in 2016. Both Lou Reed and Neil Young have appeared in Supreme campaigns, and the members of Kiss rocked out for John Varvatos, as did Willie Nelson. Looks like ZZ Top and Gibbons were onto something when they penned the 1983 hit “Sharp Dressed Man.” Now, let’s see if Gibbons will score the campaign he deserves.
